BEST ITALY PHOTO

Last month I did the 4ESO final trip, I took lots of photos and the best picture is:

I think that it is the best photo because I love the place and how colourful it is.

This picture is a medium shot about me. I am in the foreground just in the middle of the photo. In the background there is a waterway surrounded by houses. All the houses are very colorful and they capture our attention. It is a colourful, peaceful and powerful picture.

The photo is taken by my friend Carla when we were walking through the alleys of Venice.

TEENAGERS JOBS

Lots of teenagers don’t have weekend jobs and I think that it is a good idea, and we have to put it in practise. There is a few parts of the people who have them.

The main job that makes the 70% of the people is waiter or barman. It is an easy job and lots of boss want young people for work. I think that you don’t have to have the ESO, depends on the place they pay you well and you have to work about eight hours.

Another job is help your mother or father. If they have a company you can help them, like a bakery, chef assistant, in a bar or restaurant, farmer…

Some teenagers work with children like a baby sister, but it isn’t an insured work and you don’t know the timetable neither the days that you will work. Also, you can do class of maths or languages to the kids.

There are many problems to find jobs because people don’t want workers only at the weekend and sometimes they look for the experience or the resume.

MY CARNIVAL

In this post I will talk about carnival, specially about my own carnival and how I lived. I went to three different carnival, Sant Pere Pescador, Empuriabrava and Castelló d’Empúries.

I had good memories about Sant Pere. We started the party in the afternoon, the weather was warm, and we were dancing behind the floats. After the turn, everybody went to “centre civic” to drink hot chocolate. More or less about 21:00 we took away pizzas for dinner, and we stayed in a friend’s hotel. Next we went out to dance and have fun, it was good but the party end too early because it was cold, and we were so tired.

On Friday was in Empuriabrava, we arrived late to see the turn because my friends took a long time to prepare. There was a place to dance, but we didn’t like the music, so we stayed outside. We put our own music and it was good because we saluted a lot of people of the high school.

The last was Castelló, and there were many people. I danced a lot and my favourite part was when all the floats stopped near my house in a clearing and you could go from float to float, but it’s true that all the good things had a bad part and this was the weather because it was too cold.

A FAMOUS PHOTOGRAPHER

Last day I did an oral presentation about a famous photographer and an image that he did. The photo that I chose is a landscape.

AN ICONIC PHOTOGRAPH

V-J IN TIMES SQUARE is a photograph by Alfred Eisenstaedt that portrays a U.S. Navy sailor grabbing and kissing a woman in a white dress, on Victory over Japan Day (V-J Day) in New York City's, Times Square on 14 August in 1945. The author was photographing a spontaneous event: the end of the World War II.

Apart from the protagonists we can see big buildings and people walking down the street. The photo is in black and white and it is very spontaneous. Of course it is romantic, there is a kiss in the image. This iconic picture is natural and peaceful.

ANECDOTE: BEACH DAY

One sunny day I went with my family to the beach. It was very hot and I and my parents were lying on the loungers and my brother and sister were playing in the white sand. It was all very normal and nobody expected what was going to happen.

I was so nervous, yes I know that people normally go to this place to relax, but I was excited because one day was missing for my birthday. I decided to walk by the shore and I finished at the end of the beach. Afterwards, I got in the water and around me there weren’t a lot of people. I saw something in the distance but I didn’t think it was important. This thing was nearer and nearer and yes it was a shark fin.

I got out of the sea, I ran fast to alarm everybody and finally I went to see if my family was okay. I can say that this is one of my biggest scares

SHOTS & ANGLES

This picture is taken from a high angle which looks down to the car and it makes the object insignificant, very small.



This is a low angle and this angle looks up and we see the boy like a giant. We have the sensation that we are smaller than the boy.




This is an aerial shot, it shows us how big the beach is, with the sand, rocks, sea, people and umbrellas and we see it as if it was seen by a bird.



Wide shot, this is a general photo that it shows us the person in the middle of the picture that he is walking on the sand, we also can see the sea and the mountains, the blue sky and the clouds.

The photo shows us the point of view from the person who is driving a motorbike. We have the sensation that we are in the eyes of the rider and we can see his hands and the vehicle.

A STAR IS BORN

Last week I watched a special film. When I started to watch the movie I never thought that it would happen what had happened. I heard the people talk about the film but well, I don’t know why I didn’t go to the cinema. Of course, I watched it at home.

The name of the movie is A Star Is Born, directed by Bradley Cooper in 2018. The principal actors are the director (Bradley) and the very famous singer Lady Gaga.

It is a romantic and drama film that explains the story of a girl who has an important talent for music. Thanks to the singer who falls in love with her, she is heard by all the people and achieves fame. The couple has nice moments but there is a problem: the man is an alcoholic.

I really love this movie because it is very interesting and I cried at the end. There are lots of songs and I especially like the song Shallow when both artists sing together and the songs sang by Lady Gaga: Always Remember Us This Way and I’ll Never Love Again.

The news talks about the best scene in cinema history. Lots of people say that the very famous shower scene from the movie Psycho, directed by Alfred Hitchcock, is the greatest scene in cinema. Also the director Philippe agrees with this idea and he says that the sequence refined violence in the cinema.

To decide what is the best scene is very difficult because there are lots of movies and also it's a subjective decision. I don’t agree with the shower scene because I don’t like horror films and I think that there are other kind of scenes which are very good.

Dracula: vampires, perversity and Victorian anxieties

This topic explains the history and the characteristics of the vampires, more specifically Dracula, Bram Stoker.  His book reflects the fears of immigration, sexual promiscuity and moral degeneration. They say that the vampire is a complicated creature and a very contradictory figure (alluring/horrifying). Also his ability to move through the streets in London, in this moment he reflects the immigration. The act of vampirism, with its blood, suggests the fear of sexually transmitted illnesses. Literature tends to present the vampire myth as a sexual allegory and in the book there appear two women: Mina and Lucy “the New Woman”.
